Leadership through Service

The Agency for Better Living Endeavors, better known as A.B.L.E., was founded in 2004 by HC Afoa L. Su’esu’e Lutu to provide a variety of services with the mission of improving the lives of American Samoa residents. The core of our efforts is to improve the lives of the residents of American Samoa through the promotion of continued employment, education and health awareness with emphasis on special populations, rural and senior residents.

Since our founding, A.B.L.E. has thrived particularly in the area of special programming. Our dedicated team of volunteers have gone above and beyond to create dynamic and intentional program to further our mission and vision. This programming includes an intensive summer program to invest our youth in the history and culture of Samoa, the organization of events around National Alzheimer's Awareness every November, and most recently the revitalization of the Moso'oi Festival of Arts and Culture.

Mission

ABLE aims to foster community wellness through multiple avenues. We aim to promote education and employment, advance health awareness efforts, and curate programs that help preserve and cultivate Samoa's history, arts, and culture.

Vision

Samoa is home to gorgeous lands, a rich history, and beautiful arts and culture. Our people are filled with a sense of faith and community that has so much potential for community-based progress. ABLE looks forward to a Samoa that uses this communal power to create sustainable and lasting change.

ABLE believes that progress and change should be community-led. Sustainable, effective solutions can only be sought in collaboration with the populations that are directly impacted.

A.B.L.E’s Mission is crucial to the wellbeing of our community. We are able to engage everyone from our esteemed elders to our precious children. Family is key to the foundation of our Samoan culture and we are able to provide new avenues, activities and events to bring our community together in support of each other.
